ProVoc by Arizona Software was once the best vocabulary trainer for Mac OS X. I used it regulary since about 2005, mainly to learn hungarian. Over the years ProVoc became unmaintained software and Arizona Software decided to release the source code. As with each OS update some functionality was lost, there was finally a decision to be made: What are the alternatives to ProVoc and how to convert existing data?
In finally decided to use Anki and wanted to convert my existing vocabulary stacks to Anki. As there were no ready-made solutions for the conversion, I decided to roll my own: Converting data from ProVoc to Anki
